Responsibilities
- Process emergency calls and dispatch appropriate police/fire/EMS resources
- Maintain radio communication with field units during critical incidents
- Enter and update information in CAD/NCIC databases with precision
- Operate multiple communication systems (radio, phone, computer)
- Adhere to strict protocols during high-pressure situations
- Assist in training new dispatchers after certification
- Participate in emergency preparedness drills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Driver's License (Class C)
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
- Ability to type 40+ WPM (will be tested)
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Clear speaking voice and excellent hearing
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Basic computer proficiency
