Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and professionalism
- Operate radio systems to coordinate police, fire, and medical responses
- Maintain detailed logs and documentation of all communications
- Utilize CAD systems for incident tracking and resource deployment
- Provide critical information to first responders during emergencies
- Remain composed and decisive in high-pressure situations
- Adhere to all department protocols and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas driver's license at time of hire
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM (verified by test)
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Fluency in English (bilingual Spanish highly preferred)
- Basic computer literacy and multitasking ability
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
- Must pass psychological evaluation and physical agility test
