Responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming calls for service, including emergency 911 calls, accurately and efficiently.
- Enter dispatch information into Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems, ensuring data integrity.
- Communicate with field units, providing real-time updates and instructions.
- Monitor police radio frequencies and CCTV surveillance systems for safety alerts.
- Coordinate resources with other emergency services such as Fire and EMS.
- Perform clerical duties including filing, report preparation, and record maintenance.
- Handle high-pressure situations with composure and professional demeanor.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to type 40+ words per minute (training provided).
- Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
