Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units with precise location and incident details
- Operate radio equipment to maintain constant communication with field units
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques during emergencies
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Utilize NCIC/DOJ databases for suspect/warrant checks
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum 18 years of age at time of appointment
- Valid California Driver's License
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 90% accuracy
- Ability to pass extensive background investigation and polygraph examination
- Clear speaking voice with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence charges
