Responsibilities
- Process 911 calls and dispatch appropriate emergency services (police, fire, EMS)
- Maintain accurate radio communication with field units during emergencies
- Enter and update critical incident data in CAD/RMS systems
- Provide pre-arrival medical instructions via telephone when needed
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Document call details and maintain confidential records
- Operate emergency communication equipment per department protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid New York State driver's license
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure
- Clear communication skills (verbal/written)
- Must be 18+ years old and a U.S. citizen
- Basic computer proficiency
