Responsibilities
- Receive, prioritize, and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all communications and incidents
- Operate radio systems, computer-aided dispatch (CAD), and 911 equipment
- Provide clear, calm instructions to callers during critical situations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during emergencies and disasters
- Monitor multiple communication channels simultaneously
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass extensive background check and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with high accuracy
- Excellent communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish preferred)
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- Must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen
- Valid Texas driver's license
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
