Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via phone, radio, and digital systems
- Dispatch appropriate police, fire, and medical personnel to incidents
- Operate CAD/RMS systems and maintain accurate incident documentation
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during emergencies
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Monitor radio communications and relay critical information
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain operational proficiency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum 40 WPM typing proficiency
- Ability to pass extensive background check and drug screening
- Valid California driver's license
- U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under extreme pressure
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with technology systems
