Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and radio equipment
- Coordinate police, fire, and medical resources during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all communications
- Provide clear, concise information to field units and responding personnel
- Apply crisis intervention techniques for emotionally distressed callers
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and NIMS/ICS procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college preferred)
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Clear speaking voice with excellent diction
- U.S. citizenship and Washington residency required
- Pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Successfully complete pre-employment written and oral exams
- Must be 21 years old at time of appointment
