Responsibilities
- Process and prioritize 911 calls with precision and empathy
- Operate radio dispatch systems to coordinate police, fire, and EMS responses
- Maintain accurate digital logs of all communications and incident reports
- Utilize CAD systems to track unit locations and resource allocation
- Provide critical information to first responders during emergency situations
- Execute multi-agency coordination protocols during large-scale incidents
- Complete all required training modules within the designated timeframe
- Adhere to NJ State Police and FCC regulations for emergency communications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- Ability to pass extensive background investigation and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Proficiency in computer applications (MS Office, CAD systems)
- Exceptional active listening and verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and make critical decisions during high-stress scenarios
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions involving dishonesty
