Responsibilities
- Answer and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD systems
- Dispatch police units with precise location details and incident updates
- Maintain accurate radio communication protocols during critical incidents
- Input and maintain detailed case information in RMS databases
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during large-scale emergencies
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers in crisis situations
- Monitor multiple channels simultaneously while maintaining composure
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- U.S. citizenship and valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Clear enunciation and exceptional listening skills
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence charges
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems
