Responsibilities
- Process 911 calls and prioritize emergency responses using CAD systems
- Coordinate with police, fire, and EMS personnel during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate logs of all communications and radio transmissions
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to callers
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and emergency notification protocols
- Train on NIBRS reporting procedures and departmental policies
- Perform multi-tasking during high-pressure emergency scenarios
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during mutual aid situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Valid Minnesota driver's license
- Ability to pass criminal background check and polygraph examination
- Experience with multi-line phone systems or CAD software preferred
- Strong situational judgment and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Certification in CPR/First Aid within 90 days of hire
