Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with professionalism and urgency
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and radio systems
- Coordinate emergency response with police, fire, and EMS units
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide critical information to first responders during crises
- Handle multi-line phone systems and prioritize incoming communications
- Perform data entry and administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- US citizenship and valid Louisiana driver's license
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to type 35+ WPM (testing required)
- Clear speaking voice and excellent communication skills
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- No felony convictions; misdemeanors evaluated case-by-case
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized systems
