Responsibilities
- Process emergency calls and dispatch appropriate police units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain precise radio communications with field units during active incidents
- Enter and update critical incident data in real-time databases
- Coordinate multi-agency responses involving fire, EMS, and other departments
- Provide crisis intervention and pre-arrival instructions to callers
- Monitor multiple channels simultaneously while maintaining situational awareness
- Prepare detailed incident reports and documentation
- Participate in ongoing scenario-based training simulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred
- Minimum 18 years of age with valid NJ residency
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Clear criminal background check and drug-free certification
- Ability to pass psychological evaluation and polygraph examination
- Proficiency with computer systems and multi-tasking under pressure
- Exceptional verbal communication and active listening skills
- Previous public safety or customer service experience a plus
