Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD systems
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units with precise location and incident details
- Maintain accurate logs of all communications and activities
- Operate radio, telephone, and computer equipment during high-stress situations
- Provide critical information to officers and other agencies
- Remain calm and professional during crisis scenarios
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance operational skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- Typing speed of 35+ WPM (verified by assessment)
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Fluency in English (written and verbal)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
