Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency 911 calls with precision and empathy
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems for real-time resource allocation
- Dispatch police officers, fire units, and EMS personnel during emergencies
- Maintain detailed incident logs and communication records
- Coordinate with state agencies during multi-jurisdictional incidents
- Perform radio communications using FCC protocols
- Provide crisis intervention and caller guidance during emergencies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Ohio driver's license
- Pass criminal background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (tested during assessment)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- U.S. citizenship and Ohio residency requirement
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence charges
- Successful completion of departmental training academy
