Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency calls via 911 and non-emergency lines
- Dispatch police officers, fire units, and medical services to incidents
- Maintain accurate real-time status tracking of field units
- Operate CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) and radio communication systems
- Document all interactions and incidents in compliance with NCIC protocols
- Provide critical information to first responders during active emergencies
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- US citizenship or legal resident status
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Ability to type 35+ WPM (typing test provided)
- Clear speaking voice and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong multitasking abilities under high-pressure situations
