Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with precision and empathy
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems and radio communications
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate with multiple agencies (EMS, Fire, other PDs) during emergencies
- Operate emergency notification systems and crisis management protocols
- Provide critical information to first responders in real-time
- Undergo continuous training in dispatch procedures and technology
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- U.S. citizenship and valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Strong multitasking and stress-management skills
- Clear speaking voice with excellent diction
- Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn specialized software
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor convictions
