Responsibilities
- Process 911 and non-emergency calls with accuracy and compassion
- Operate radio communication systems for police, fire, and EMS units
- Input and retrieve critical information from CAD/RMS databases
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incidents
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during emergency situations
- Provide clear instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Adhere to NJSP protocols and departmental procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- Pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (tested during hiring process)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong multitasking and decision-making abilities under pressure
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work
