Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with professionalism and empathy
- Operate radio equipment and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Dispatch police units and emergency services based on priority protocols
- Maintain accurate records of all calls, incidents, and actions taken
- Remain calm and effective during high-stress emergency situations
- Coordinate with other agencies and first responders
- Complete all required training modules and certification requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Michigan driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Strong typing skills (minimum 35 WPM)
- Excellent communication and active listening abilities
- Ability to multitask and prioritize critical information
- Must be 18 years or older and a U.S. citizen
- No felony convictions
