Responsibilities
- Answer and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD systems
- Dispatch police/fire/EMS units with precise location details and incident specifics
- Maintain accurate radio communication protocols during high-stress situations
- Enter/update data in RMS and record management systems
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques for callers
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate emergency equipment and backup systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Proficient in typing (40+ WPM) with computer literacy
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and multitask effectively
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
- Must be 18+ years old and a U.S. citizen
