Responsibilities
- Process 911 calls and prioritize emergency responses using CAD/RMS systems
- Coordinate with police, fire, EMS, and other agencies during critical incidents
- Provide pre-arrival medical instructions to callers until emergency responders arrive
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incident activities
- Operate radio dispatch equipment and multi-line telephone systems
- Execute evacuation protocols during natural disasters or public safety threats
- Assist in training new dispatchers and updating departmental procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- Ability to pass criminal background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with high accuracy
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn specialized software
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- No felony convictions or disqualifying misdemeanor offenses
