Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and professionalism
- Operate multi-channel radio systems to coordinate field units
- Utilize CAD software for real-time incident tracking and documentation
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Provide critical information to officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel
- Remain calm under pressure during high-stress emergency situations
- Collaborate with other dispatchers and agency personnel
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
- Must pass pre-employment physical and psychological evaluation
