Responsibilities
- Answer emergency/non-emergency calls and dispatch appropriate resources
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and radio equipment
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all communications
- Coordinate with multiple agencies (police, fire, EMS) during emergencies
- Remain calm under extreme pressure while processing high-volume information
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain certification standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (verified assessment required)
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Clear communication skills in high-stress situations
- Basic computer proficiency with ability to learn complex systems
- Arizona driver's license with clean driving record
- No felony convictions
