Responsibilities
- Process 911 calls with exceptional calmness and efficiency during high-pressure situations
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems while maintaining accurate real-time communication
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during emergencies and critical incidents
- Document all call details and actions in compliance with department protocols
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during medical or crisis scenarios
- Maintain radio communication with field units and external agencies
- Participate in continuous training to stay updated on procedures and technologies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Minimum 50 WPM typing certification
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and drug screening
- Experience in customer service, call centers, or emergency services
- Strong multitasking abilities with exceptional situational awareness
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn specialized dispatch software
- Residency in Hawaii required within 30 days of hire
