Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency (911) and non-emergency calls for service from the public.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incidents based on location and type of emergency.
- Accurately record and enter incident data into CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems.
- Maintain constant radio contact with field units to provide updates and instructions.
- Monitor security cameras and electronic sensors to detect suspicious activities.
- Provide information and assistance to citizens regarding police services and community programs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support department operations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid Nevada Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- Proficiency in typing (minimum 35 WPM) and computer navigation.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress, high-volume situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
