Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems with accuracy and urgency
- Dispatch police units using radio communication protocols during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incident activities
- Coordinate with multiple agencies (fire, EMS) during multi-jurisdictional responses
- Provide crisis intervention and pre-arrival instructions to callers in distress
- Operate multi-line telephone systems and specialized emergency equipment
- Adhere to NCIC/NLETS protocols for sensitive information handling
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (college coursework preferred)
- Valid NC driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass criminal background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed minimum 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Proficiency in Windows OS and basic computer applications
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong multitasking skills in high-stress environments
- US citizenship or legal authorization to work in the US
