Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and respond to emergency and non-emergency radio frequencies.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incidents based on geographic and resource allocation.
- Take accurate and detailed information from callers via telephone or radio.
- Enter and maintain precise records and incident logs in the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
- Coordinate with field officers and other agencies to ensure the safety of the public.
- Maintain composure and professionalism during high-stress situations.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License (or ability to obtain one).
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, polygraph, and psychological evaluation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer literacy and typing proficiency.
