Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD systems with accuracy and efficiency
- Dispatch police units, fire, and EMS resources during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed logs of communications and incident documentation
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during medical emergencies
- Operate radio equipment and multi-line telephone systems
- Coordinate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional incidents
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and HIPAA compliance standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass background check and psychological evaluation
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- U.S. citizenship and Virginia residency required
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions involving dishonesty
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficient in computer applications and multi-tasking abilities
