Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines with accuracy and compassion
- Dispatch police units using CAD/RMS systems while adhering to established protocols
- Maintain real-time communication with officers, EMS, and other emergency responders
- Document incident details using standardized reporting procedures
- Operate radio equipment and multi-line telephone systems during high-stress scenarios
- Provide critical information to the public and responding personnel
- Participate in continuous training to maintain certification and procedural knowledge
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with accuracy
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Proficiency in computer applications and multitasking
- Exceptional communication and de-escalation skills
- Ability to remain calm during critical incidents
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
