Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency calls, dispatching appropriate police units
- Maintain accurate and detailed call logs in CAD systems
- Provide critical information to officers in the field during emergencies
- Coordinate with other emergency services (fire, EMS) for multi-agency responses
- Remain calm and professional during high-stress situations
- Perform routine checks on officer status and equipment
- Assist with training new dispatch personnel
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 90% accuracy
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- Clear communication skills in English (bilingual preferred)
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
- Pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Valid driver's license with good driving record
