Responsibilities
- Receive, prioritize, and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services to incidents using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Monitor and operate surveillance cameras and radio frequencies to maintain situational awareness.
- Provide information and assistance to the public while maintaining strict adherence to departmental protocols.
- Enter and update incident reports, status changes, and data into internal databases.
- Collaborate with field units and other emergency services to coordinate responses effectively.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid California Class C Driverβs License is required (or ability to obtain one).
- Excellent typing skills with the ability to type at least 35-40 words per minute.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays, nights, weekends, and in adverse weather conditions.
- Background check and psychological evaluation will be required.
