Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police units using CAD/RMS systems with accuracy and speed
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incident reports
- Coordinate with other agencies (EMS, Fire) during multi-jurisdictional incidents
- Provide critical information to officers in the field during active situations
- Remain calm and professional under high-pressure emergency conditions
- Operate radio equipment and computerized communication systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Louisiana driver's license
- Pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Ability to type 35+ WPM with accuracy
- Exceptional communication and active listening skills
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Proficiency with basic computer systems
- Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident
