Responsibilities
- Receive, screen, and process emergency 911 and non-emergency calls for service.
- Dispatch police units, fire services, and EMS personnel to incidents utilizing CAD systems.
- Maintain accurate, detailed radio logs and incident records in real-time.
- Provide critical information to field units and support criminal investigations.
- Monitor police activity and alert supervisors to potential issues or officer safety concerns.
- Coordinate inter-agency responses and traffic control when necessary.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and a U.S. citizen.
- Valid New York State Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a clear, professional voice.
- Ability to type 35+ WPM and navigate computer systems quickly.
- Strong ability to remain calm, focused, and make quick decisions under pressure.
