Responsibilities

  • Monitor Emergency Communications: Receive and process incoming calls via phone and radio, determining the nature and urgency of each request for assistance.
  • Dispatch Units: Accurately dispatch police, fire, and emergency medical services to the scene of incidents using CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems.
  • Manage Logs: Maintain precise, real-time logs of all calls, unit status, and incident details to ensure accountability and legal compliance.
  • Community Assistance: Provide information, directions, and non-emergency assistance to citizens in need, serving as a primary point of contact for the community.
  • Interagency Coordination: Communicate effectively with other public safety agencies, hospitals, and utility companies during multi-agency incidents.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required; post-secondary education in Criminal Justice or Communications is a plus.
