Responsibilities
- Receive, screen, and process emergency (911) and non-emergency calls from the public.
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units to incidents utilizing Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Monitor law enforcement radio frequencies, CCTV systems, and electronic sensor alarms.
- Provide vital pre-arrival instructions to callers in medical and fire emergencies.
- Maintain accurate radio logs and records of all dispatch activity.
- Coordinate inter-agency communications during multi-agency responses.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid Driverβs License with a good driving record.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed during high-stress, high-volume situations.
- Basic computer literacy and typing proficiency.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
