Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via phone, radio, and digital systems
- Dispatch police units with precise location details and critical information
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and radio communication equipment
- Maintain detailed incident logs and documentation
- Coordinate with other emergency agencies (EMS, Fire) during multi-agency incidents
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during critical situations
- Operate specialized equipment including radio consoles and mapping systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Fluency in English (bilingual Spanish preferred)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong multi-tasking and decision-making abilities under pressure
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions involving dishonesty
