Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems
- Operate multi-channel radio communications for police, fire, and medical services
- Utilize mapping software to dispatch appropriate emergency units
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate with multiple agencies during critical incidents
- Provide crisis intervention and pre-arrival medical instructions
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass comprehensive background investigation
- Valid California driver's license required
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficient in multitasking and high-pressure decision-making
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer literacy with willingness to learn specialized software
