Responsibilities
- Receive, prioritize, and dispatch emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Operate multi-channel radio systems, computer-aided dispatch (CAD), and 911 equipment
- Maintain accurate logs and incident documentation per department protocols
- Provide clear, concise instructions to field units during critical incidents
- Coordinate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional emergencies
- Remain calm under extreme pressure while making rapid decisions
- Participate in continuous training on new technologies and procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass criminal background check and polygraph examination
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Strong multitasking abilities in high-stress environments
- Excellent verbal communication skills with clear diction
- US citizenship and valid Tennessee driver's license
- No history of drug-related offenses or domestic violence incidents
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
