Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls, assess situations, and dispatch appropriate emergency services
- Operate radio systems, computer-aided dispatch (CAD), and 911 equipment with precision
- Provide clear, calm instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Coordinate with police officers, firefighters, and medical personnel
- Adhere to departmental protocols and confidentiality standards
- Participate in continuous training to enhance emergency response skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure situations
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
- Basic computer proficiency and typing speed (40+ WPM preferred)
- Must pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- No felony convictions
