Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch appropriate police units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide clear instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Coordinate with other emergency services (fire, EMS) during multi-agency responses
- Operate radio equipment and maintain communication protocols
- Complete all required training modules within designated timeframe
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to work flexible shifts (nights, weekends, holidays)
- Basic computer proficiency and typing speed (40+ WPM)
- Excellent communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- No felony convictions; pass background check and drug screening
- Valid NC driver's license
- Basic knowledge of Raleigh geography preferred
