Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency 911 calls and non-emergency service requests with high accuracy and speed.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incident scenes using the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
- Maintain real-time status of all emergency units and resources within the Glendale jurisdiction.
- Input and update incident reports and field information into the records management system.
- Provide critical information to responding officers and citizens to ensure scene safety and order.
- Monitor radio frequencies for traffic, suspicious activities, and officer status.
- Perform clerical duties including answering phones, filing, and maintaining accurate logs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; post-secondary education in criminal justice or communications is a plus.
- Valid Arizona Class D Driver's License with a good driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to speak clearly and concisely over the phone.
- Strong typing skills (minimum 35-40 WPM) and proficiency in computer applications.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress, emergency situations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
- Pass a comprehensive background check, drug screen, and medical evaluation.
