Responsibilities
- Passenger and Property Screening: Operate X-ray screening machines and walk-through metal detectors to inspect passengers and carry-on baggage for prohibited items, weapons, and explosives.
- Pat-down Procedures: Perform comprehensive pat-down searches to ensure the safety of travelers, following all TSA protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally and courteously with the traveling public, explaining screening procedures clearly and efficiently to minimize delays and passenger inconvenience.
- Security Operations: Monitor surveillance monitors and be alert for suspicious behavior or unattended luggage, reporting anomalies immediately to supervision.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the cleaning of screening equipment and ensuring the proper functioning of screening technology.
- Compliance: Adhere to all TSA directives, agency policies, and federal regulations regarding transportation security.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or national, or have the legal right to work in the United States.
- Background Check: Must successfully pass a background investigation, including a criminal history check, drug screen, and medical examination.
- Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and pass a basic medical exam.
- Education: High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is required.
- Drug Free: Must not be using illegal drugs.
