Responsibilities
- Receive, prioritize, and accurately process incoming emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incident locations using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Maintain precise, up-to-date radio logs and status reports for all field units.
- Provide accurate directions and information to callers while remaining calm under pressure.
- Monitor police radio frequencies and CCTV feeds to assess situations and ensure officer safety.
- Collaborate with field units and other agencies to coordinate complex multi-agency responses.
- Assist in the training of new recruits and support the dispatch center during peak hours.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak clearly over the phone.
- Typing proficiency of at least 35-40 words per minute is highly preferred.
- Ability to remain composed and make quick decisions in high-stress, emergency situations.
- Valid Nevada Driverβs License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and medical evaluation.
