Responsibilities
- Process emergency calls with precision and empathy, dispatching appropriate units to critical incidents
- Maintain detailed logs and documentation of all communications using CAD/RMS systems
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during large-scale emergencies and disaster scenarios
- Provide critical pre-arrival medical instructions to callers in life-threatening situations
- Monitor radio communications and maintain situational awareness for field units
- Operate complex telecommunications equipment under high-pressure conditions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 60 WPM typing certification
- Valid California driver's license
- Ability to pass comprehensive background investigation and polygraph examination
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and multi-tasking in high-stress environments
- Strong communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish highly desirable)
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
