Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls from the public with professionalism and accuracy
- Dispatch appropriate police units and emergency services using CAD systems
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incidents
- Coordinate with multiple agencies during multi-jurisdictional incidents
- Remain calm and composed during crisis situations
- Provide critical information to responding officers and field personnel
- Operate radio systems and computerized dispatch equipment
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- United States citizenship or legal resident status
- No prior experience required – training provided!
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- Clear communication skills (verbal and written)
- Pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (will be tested)
- Must complete Dispatcher Academy within first year
