Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using CAD systems with precision and efficiency
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Provide clear instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during emergencies
- Operate radio systems and communication equipment per protocol
- Assist in training new dispatchers upon certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Basic computer proficiency (typing test required)
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Texas Class C driver's license (or ability to obtain)
- US citizenship or legal residency status
