Responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming emergency (911) and non-emergency calls efficiently.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services to appropriate locations.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all calls for service in the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
- Communicate with field units to provide critical information, status updates, and traffic control.
- Monitor police radio frequencies and alert units to changing situations.
- Provide information and assistance to the public regarding police services and non-emergency inquiries.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Valid New Jersey Driver's License with a good driving record.
- Ability to type at least 35 words per minute.
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under stressful conditions.
- Willingness to submit to a background investigation, drug screening, and medical examination.
