Responsibilities
- Receive and Process Calls: Efficiently answer 911 and non-emergency calls, gathering critical information for officers in the field.
- Dispatch Units: Coordinate the deployment of law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services to incidents quickly and accurately.
- Radio Communication: Maintain clear, professional, and concise two-way radio communication with field personnel.
- Record Keeping: Accurately log incident reports, citations, and warrants into the CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) system.
- Unit Status Management: Monitor the status of all active units and reassign resources as situations evolve.
- Community Assistance: Provide information and guidance to the public during non-emergency situations.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- License: Valid North Carolina Driver’s License required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a call center, customer service, or public safety environment is a plus but not mandatory for the Trainee level.
- Skills: Strong typing skills (40+ WPM) and proficiency with computer systems.
- Character: Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly under stressful conditions.
