Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service via radio, telephone, and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel to emergency scenes in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitor and operate radio frequency channels and CCTV surveillance systems to track unit status and crime activity.
- Enter and update incident reports, warrants, and citations into the Police Records Management System (RMS).
- Provide information and assistance to citizens, callers, and officers in a professional, calm, and empathetic manner.
- Collaborate with other dispatch centers and regional agencies to ensure seamless communication during large-scale incidents.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Driver’s License in good standing required.
- Must be able to pass a background investigation, drug screen, and medical examination.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn complex dispatch software quickly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to multitask in a high-stress environment.
- Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
