Responsibilities
- Monitor and Respond: Monitor police, fire, and medical radio frequencies to receive emergency and non-emergency calls.
- Unit Dispatching: Quickly and accurately dispatch law enforcement officers, fire services, and emergency medical personnel to the scene of incidents.
- Information Management: Collect and input critical data into Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems, ensuring accurate records for all incidents.
- Communication: Provide clear, concise, and professional instructions to field units and citizens via telephone and radio.
- Priority Management: Assess the severity of calls and prioritize resources to ensure the most critical situations receive immediate attention.
- Support Coordination: Coordinate with other agencies and support services during large-scale incidents or special events.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Driver's License: Valid Nevada Driver's License required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Technical Proficiency: Basic computer skills and the ability to learn complex dispatch software systems.
- Background: No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.
- Health: Ability to pass a medical examination and demonstrate the physical stamina required for the role.
